Bayer Foundation announces 2023 Science Awards winners

Professor Claudia Höbartner from the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the University of Würzburg, Germany receives this year’s Hansen Family Award for her pioneering research in biomolecular chemistry of functional nucleic acids. Four young scientists are honored with the Early Excellence in Science Awards for their boundary breaking research in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Data Science and Medical Science.

Welcoming Edith Heard to our Board of Trustees

As of October 2023, Prof. Dr. Edith Heard has become the new Chairwoman of the Bayer Foundation Board of Trustees for the Science Program. Prof. Heard will succeed Prof. Patrick Cramer, president of the Max Planck Society, who was officially the Chair of the Board of Trustees until end of 2022.

Science Fellowships: Here our 2023 Fellows!

In our work, we strive to enhance the impact of science for the benefit of society. With a focus on embedding a collaborative mindset in the next generation of scientific leaders, our three fellowships offer opportunities for international exchange for outstanding masters, PhD, and medical students in the fields of Drug Discovery, Agriculture, and Medicine. In 2023, we selected 35 brilliant minds from 13 different countries for this unique experience and provided more than 256,000€ in funding.
